Adding central A/C

The first big project we’re going to undertake is installing central air and heat. It’s a must, especially since we live in Los Angeles and because we’re about to go into the scorching summer months. Obviously, we’re going to hire a professional to do it. But I’ve also been eyeing the Nest thermostat system. It’s a smart device, which means over time it learns your preferences and adjusts accordingly. Plus, you can control your thermostat remotely through an app you download on your phone.

The product normally retails for $249, but I happened to catch it on sale at Target for $199 because of July 4th. Coupled with a $25 gift card that I received for buying multiple boxes of diapers and a 5% discount from using my Target RedCard, I ended up bagging this baby for $180. Ahhhh. That’s the sweet smell of saving money.

Nest is supposed to be super easy to install. We shall see. Update to come.
